As a U.S. Economic Development Authority designated Economic Development District, BRADD is tasked with the creation and updated of both a Regional Hazard Mitigation Plan and a Regional Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) every five years. Additionally, BRADD works with local communities to develop local-level comprehensive plans and numerous other local plans annually. Recently, BRADD has taken a holistic approach to Community Strategic Planning, and begun to approach these processes simultaneously. In 2021, BRADD will be working with each of our 10 counties to draft county-level strategic plans. These local plans will funnel in to large regional plans, and allow BRADD to identify regional trends. It will also allow for a more regional approach to community resiliency. A kick-off meeting for this regional effort was held on December 2, 2020. And a recording of that meeting is linked here.
