The Project
The BRADD Regional Greenways Feasibility Study is designed to connect communities across southcentral Kentucky with safe, scenic, and accessible trails. Funded by a federal RAISE grant from the U.S. Dept. of Transportation, this project looks at all ten counties within the BRADD region to find out how we can responsibly link towns, parks, schools, and local destinations with a regional trail system.
Many communities do not have reliable walking or biking connections between communities. This study will explore where new trails, sidewalks, and shared-use paths could go, while keeping in mind aspects like safety, cost, and environmental stewardship.
By working hand-in-hand with local leaders and the public, the project will create a roadmap for tails that support healthy lifestyles, bolster tourism, and strengthen our regional economy. The final plan will guide future investments and help move southcentral Kentucky toward a true connected trail network.
