In January of 1994, the Board of Directors of the Barren River Area Development District (BRADD) established the William H. Natcher Award to recognize and honor distinguished service in government and the veteran United States Congressman who said, "Let's do it the right way".

In 43 years of congressional service, Mr. Natcher never took a campaign contribution, never missed a roll call, never missed an appointment with a constituent, never asked a constituent caller about their political affiliation, and never sent a constituent letter until he had read and signed it personally.

Nominations for the William H. Natcher Award will be reviewed by representatives of Kentucky Association of Elected Officials. No recipient will be selected if, in the considered view of the judging committee, the nominations lack the required attributes.

Requirements:  Nominees must have served for at least five years in an office to which they were elected, and demonstrate these key qualities:

A commitment to serving people
A commitment to exemplary integrity
A commitment to fair dealings for all citizens

Nominations for the award should exemplify how the nominee has demonstrated the qualities above. Supporting documentation may include news clippings, letters of support, copies of resolutions, and copies of awards. If requested, materials submitted will be returned.

Nominations and supporting documentation/materials must be received by 4 pm, Monday, August 27, 2018. Send nominations using the below form electronically or download, complete and mail to this address/e-mail address:
