The Barren River Area Development District/Area Agency on Aging and Independent Living will be conducting a public hearing on the Aging Services Area Plan.  This plan is for FY 2019.  The Area Plan is a document that must be submitted to the Kentucky Department for Aging and Independent Living (DAIL) in order for the allocated Federal and State funds to be spent in the BRADD area.  These funds will be used to provide congregate meals, home delivered meals, in-home services, senior center services, legal assistance, benefits counseling, ombudsman, elder abuse prevention, adult day/Alzheimer's respite, disease prevention and health promotion, National Family Caregiver Support, Medicaid Waiver Program services, and Personal Care Attendant Services.

Participation is actively sought from the following groups: older persons in greatest economic and social need, older minority persons, rural elderly, frail elderly, older persons with severe disabilities, older persons with limited English speaking ability, older Native Americans, caregivers of individuals and persons with Alzheimer's disease or related disorders.  We encourage all interested parties to review the draft plan in order to be informed and to make comments.
