Hazard Mitigation Meeting for Monroe County Kentucky

September 30, 2004

Time of Meeting: 4:00 p.m. to 4:40 p.m.

Mr. Alfonso Casana opened the meeting by describing the goal and purpose of the meeting and emphasizing the importance of community participation.

Other Barren River Area Development personnel in attendance were staff interns Brian Youpatoff, Jill Giannini, and Nick Robbins. Jill gave a presentation regarding natural disasters and the threats they can pose in the future and the death and destruction they have caused in the past and Nick gave an overview of the website and explained how to contact Hazard Mitigation Team Members on an individual basis utilizing the website links. Brian distributed sign in sheets and took a record of the meeting.

Sixteen members of the community attended the meeting including the County Judge/Executive and Mayor. Several Representatives from various fire departments also attended the meeting.

The meeting concluded with questions from the guests in attendance.
