Hazard Mitigation Meeting For Barren County Kentucky

September 16 th, 2004

Time of Meeting: 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Mr. Jeff Reed opened the meeting by describing the goal and purpose of the Barren River Area Development District and emphasizing the importance of community participation regarding hazard mitigation.

Other Barren River Area Development personnel in attendance were staff interns Brian Youpatoff and Jill Giannini. Brian gave an overview of the website and explained how to contact Hazard Mitigation Team Members on an individual basis utilizing the website links and Jill gave a presentation regarding natural disasters and the threats they can pose in the future and the death and destruction they have caused in the past.

Eleven members of the community attended the meeting including the Judge/Executive, a representative from the fire department, and a representative from the police department.

The meeting concluded with questions from the guests in attendance.
