Hazard Mitigation Meeting for Hart County Kentucky
September 13 th , 2004
Time of Meeting: 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.
Mr. Alfonso Casana opened the meeting by describing the goal and purpose of the meeting and emphasizing the importance of community participation.
Other Barren River Area Development personnel in attendance were staff interns Brian Youpatoff and Jill Giannini. Brian gave an overview of the website and explained how to contact Hazard Mitigation Team Members on an individual basis utilizing the website links and Jill gave a presentation regarding natural disasters and the threats they can pose in the future and the death and destruction they have caused in the past.
Five members of the community attended the meeting including the County Judge/Executive, two officials with different fire departments, one member of the parks system, and one representative of the news media.
The meeting concluded with questions from the guests in attendance. The questions were recorded for documentation purposes.
