Interactive web sites such as FEMA's HazardMaps.gov and
the U.S. Geological Survey's National Atlas and
National Map allow users to produce a variety of
detailed, customized hazard maps using only a standard Web browser. These three sites offer many of the
features available in commercially-available GIS applications yet cost nothing to use and require no
formal training. www.hazardmaps.gov www.nationalatlas.gov
