The Barren River Area Agency on Aging is a public non-profit agency,
Designated by the state to address the needs and concerns of all older Americans at the local level.
The Barren River AAA provides five important
Services for Americans aged 60 years and over:
- Advocate for all older Americans within our service area.
- Identify the needs of the elderly in our service area and develop plans for the development of comprehensive, community-based services, which meet those needs.
- Administer funding from the Older American’s Act, State Homecare and Adult Day Care, Personal Care Attendant Program, Department for Health and Human Services, Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services for the State Health Insurance program and Medicaid.
- Provide information and assistance about services and opportunities that are available in each of the BRADD’s ten counties and how you can become a part of the network.
- Educate and raise public awareness of the realities of growing older in today’s society.
As part of a national network, our role is to develop & coordinate service to meet the individual needs of seniors in the South Central Kentucky area.
