“ Positive Images of Aging Award.”

  Dr. Melissa Hakman, Ph,D., is an assistant Professor of Psychology at Western Kentucky University. Dr. Hakman has been working with the Barren River Area Development District/Agency on Aging and Independent Living Family Caregiver Support Program since 2005 providing trainings for both grandparents who are raising their grandchildren as well as the grandchildren they are raising.  Dr. Hakman, because of her pioneer research involving grandparents raising grandchildren was nominated by the BRADD/AAA Family Caregiver Support Program for the 2007 South Eastern Association of Area Agencies on Aging (SE4A) Conference, “Positive Images of Aging Award.”
