BRADD/AAA Partners with Barren River District Health Department to implement the “planning phase” of the KERI

The Barren River Area Development District Area Agency on Aging partners with the Barren River District Health Department to conduct community forums to gather community representatives and citizens to prioritize public health and aging concerns.
These forums are the second part of “The Big Listen” that was started with the Everybody Survey and the “planning phase” of the Kentucky Elder Readiness Initiative.
Health Department and Aging Staff will discuss the assets and challenges of both the Everybody Survey for each county and the KERI survey for the Barren River Area.   These survey data will be utilized to initiate discussions and to obtain citizens greatest concerns relating to Health Issues, Health Service Issues, Environmental Health Concerns and Baby Boomer Issues.  Communities will be asked to accept the challenge and make a commitment to be a part of the planning and development process of local initiatives to address concerns identified in the public forums.  It is through this planning process that local communities can create sustainable projects and programs that support a Healthy and Aging Community.

Forums have been conducted in Barren, Edmonson, Hart, Logan, Simpson and Warren Counties.
