2006 Education at Work Scholarship

The Education Cabinet will award $1000 scholarships to agency customers pursuing post secondary education. The scholarships must be used for tuition, books, lab, and technology fees.

To be eligible applicants must be a Kentucky resident and have received services for any period of time from January 1, 2004-April 28, 2006 from any of the following Education Cabinet agencies: Office for the Blind, Office of Employment and Training, Office of Career and Technical Education, Office of Vocational Rehabilitation, or Kentucky Adult Education. Examples of these services include Workforce Investment Act, unemployment insurance, vocational rehabilitation, dislocated worker program, secondary Kentucky Tech schools and adult learning centers.

Each applicant must write an essay of 600 words or less on Kentucky ’s brand “Unbridled Spirit” and how this theme relates to their educational and career goals.
