The Barren River Area Agency on Aging Family Caregiver Support Program, Grandparents Raising Grandchildren partnered with Rockfield Elementary School , Family Resource Center to provide a Chili Supper and training for grandparents raising grandchildren on March 14, 2006. Over 30 grandparent along with their grandchildren enjoyed a night of fun, fellowship and education about “How to better prepare their grandchildren for school.” Lindsey Thomas, teacher at Rockfield Elementary School presented “Library and Media Resources, ” for grandparents to utilize during school activities. Other speakers included: Dr. Melissa Hakman, Psychology Professor at WKU and Kim Halter, Barren River Family Caregiver Support Program Coordinator.
