The GPS Road Centerline project is well underway and the GIS staff here at the BRADD has just finished up Hart County. During the Hart County update, staff met with local officials to identify new roads and/or changes that needed to be made. New roads were then collected using GPS and changes were made appropriately. Our objectives with this project are to:

1. Have every road in the county identified and collected into the data set, including private roadways.
2. Have the “owner” of every road properly identified. Is the road owned by the State, by the County, by the City or is it a private road?
3. Maintain the accuracy of the road’s length.

County data sets will be reviewed and updated annually. As of now, Warren, Edmonson and Hart counties have been updated and approved.

The current project schedule is as follows:

1. April = Butler County
2. May = Allen County
3. August = Monroe County
4. October = Logan County
5. November = Simpson County
6. December = Barren County
