FIRST LEADER OF ETHICS BOARD DIES

Judge George B. Boston died March 3. The BRADD Board of Directors chose the former Bowling Green Police Judge to lead the Regional Board of Ethics. The Board was established in 1994 following legislative action.

He asked to be relieved late last year because of worsening health problems following heart surgery. In November, the Board designated Justice Walter Baker, of Glasgow, as a successor.

The Regional Ethics Board has been successful in assisting local governments in administering their ethics ordinances efficiently and economically. Judge Boston is credited with guiding the Board’s work with firmness and fairness.

Judge Boston earned the Bronze Star and two Purple Heart medals during World War II. He was a graduate of Western and Harvard Law School. He served as Bowling Green Police Court Judge for 18 years and Commissioner appointments.
