Barren River District Wide Training

The Barren River Development District Area Agency on Aging staff held a District Wide Training  on April 18, 2007  at the Community Action of Southern Kentucky Education and Human Services Center.  Training topics included:   “Alcoholism, Counseling and the Elderly”,  “Pandemic Influenza”, “Diabetes Over View” “An Introduction to Supports for Community Living” and “Nutrition and the Elderly.”  The BRADD/AAA staff requested nominations for special recognition awards from service provider staff to be submitted for individuals within the Aging Network who go the extra mile for their clients.  Green River Area Development District/AAA Staff reviewed and judged the nominations.  Winners were presented an award during the District Wide Training.  Categories and winners include: 

Outstanding Service Provider of the Year  - Barren River Adult Day Health Care Center. 
Outstanding Service Provider Staff/Volunteer of the Year - Geraldine Palmer, Russellville Senior Center
Outstanding Case Manager of the Year - Susan Ezell, Barren River Aging Services.
Outstanding Community Care Aide of the Year - Tammy Embry,  Lifeline Homecare Inc.
Outstanding Senior Center  staff/volunteer of the Year - Betty Kingery, Glasgow Senior Center
Outstanding Adult Day Health Care Staff of the Year – Jackie Haswell, Barren River Adult Day Health Care.
