The Barren River Area Development District Agency on Aging and Bowling Green Parks and Recreation promoted Healthy Aging for our seniors within the Barren River Area Development District. Seniors were invited to participate in the Barren River Regional Senior Games to be held Wednesday May 31, 2006 through June 6, 2006. These games were open to individuals 50 years of age and older. Awards were given per age division. Competitor in Golfing, Swimming, Walking, Bowling, Tennis, Horseshoes, Volleyball, Shuffleboard, Racquetball, or Basketball were offered the opportunity to compete and have a fun filled day with other active healthy seniors from across the region.

The BRADD/AAA is also promoting the 2006 Kentucky State Senior Games to be held on September 20-24 in Lexington, Kentucky and the and 2007 Summer National Games to be on June 22-July 8, 2007 in Louisville, KY.
