The Barren River Area Agency on Aging and Board Members celebrated May 2006 as Older American’s Month and Elder Abuse Prevention Month. Throughout the month of May several activities were held in honor of Older Americans Month. Some of these activities included: Proclamation signings, Bark in the Park, Senior Health and Fitness Days, Senior Bowling and Fishing Derby and the wearing of silver ribbons to bring awareness to our community about the serious crime of Elder Abuse and Exploitation.
