The Barren River Development District Area Agency on Aging staff held a District Wide Training on April19-20, 2006 at the Barren River State Park for all Barren River Aging Network Service Providers Staff. Training topics included: “Weather Preparedness”, “Elder Abuse”, “HIV Wisdom for Seniors What you need to know?” “Domestic Violence and the Elderly,” and “Communicating with the Alzheimer’s Client.” The BRADD/AAA staff requested nominations for special recognition awards from service provider staff to be submitted for individuals within the Aging Network who go the extra mile for their clients. Green River Area Development District/AAA Staff reviewed and judged the nominations. Winners were presented an award during the District Wide Training. Categories and winners include:

Outstanding Service Provider of the Year , Lifeline Homecare Inc.

Outstanding Service Provider Staff of the Year – Bethany Adams, BEST Center for Independent Living

Outstanding Case Manager of the Year, Susan Ezell– Barren River Aging Services.

Outstanding Community Care Aide of the Year, Ruby Brown—Lifeline Homecare Inc.

Outstanding Senior Center Manager of the Year, Peggy Howell–Community Action of Southern Kentucky, Inc.

Outstanding Adult Day Health Care Staff of the Year, – Sherry Barton -Barren River Adult Day Health Care.
