The staff keeps the Barren River Area up-to-date through contracted work with:

      •the Transportation Cabinet, mapping highway and street centerlines;
      •the Kentucky State Police, by applying address ranges to the centerlines;
      •the Commercial Mobile Radio Service Board, by correcting deficiencies in the Public Safety         Answering Point Computer Aided Dispatch files;
      •the Kentucky Infrastructure Authority, by maintaining current maps and data of water and wastewater         installations;
      •and the Connect Kentucky program, by mapping areas deemed suitable for  broadband         development.

The staff has responded to many individual requests, such as maps for Hart County, needed in the response to the recent tornado; up-dating dispatch data for the Medical Center 9-1-1 Dispatch; assisting the Edmonson County Water District in the installation of a GIS; helping the Logan County Emergency Operations Center catch up after staff changes; helping Butler County meet the requirements of CMRS for dispatching; producing a publishable map for the Metcalfe County Chamber of Commerce with a considerable saving; and helping Monroe County with a 9-1-1 street map and index.
