COMMISSIONER WILLIAMS ADDRESSES BOARD
Commissioner Ellen Wiliams, Governor’s Office for Local Development speaks to the November BRADD Board of Directors.

Commissioner Williams spoke to the Board about GOLD’s 2006 Legislative Priorities for the Kentucky General Assembly which meets from January – April.

GOLD will seek additional funds for the Community Economic Growth Grant (CEGG) created by the last General Assembly session in the amount of $10 million each year of the biennium ($20 million).

Another legislative priority will be $12 million to continue Renaissance Kentucky funding for small-town beautification projects.

Commissioner Williams also committed to getting $2 million each year of the biennium for the Joint Funding Administration for Area Development District operations and $1 million each year for the Area Development Fund (ADF) which funds capital improvement projects for local governments.
