  • Are there available templates for a “host agency agreement between for profit and non-profit?

Yes, if awarded a contract, your agency would be required to utilize a host agency agreement.    See a draft example of a host agency agreement.

  • Since there was not a fill in the blank application attached, I assume basically the grant proposal is to consist of a narrative outlining how our program will meet each of the “General Requirements”, and the attached forms including budget forms?

The Grant proposal should consist of a narrative based on the Program Description and Narrative Questions and the Budget Detail Narrative and Budget Forms.  The General Requirements section is just a FYI.  This will be required by all agencies that are awarded a summer youth contract.

  • Are there budget guidelines available?

Basically there are only two guidelines:  no more than 20% can be used for administrative costs and the total budget cannot exceed $45,000.  The administrative costs are your salary, fringe, travel, supplies, etc.  The remaining funding is to be used for the actual wages for the summer youth workers payroll.

  • Could I begin asking businesses now if they would take an employee so I might ascertain how many hours of work I need?

Yes

  • Are students paid for the training hours? I am trying to determine how many hours per month of training we should provide.

Yes, they can be paid for the time that they are in training as long as it does not occur during school hours. We do not require a certain number of training hours.  The training needs to  focus on work readiness skills so they may be prepared for upcoming summer youth employment placement.

  • Is there a template for an Individual Employment Training Plan or should I simply create a form that addresses each component?

Just create a form.

  •   Do you have suggestions for an assessment tool that may be utilized?
            We have attached a couple of sample assessments for your review.  The main purpose of the assessment tool is to measure development of work readiness skills.  This will be one of the performance indicators in determining a successful program. Click Here
