Bucks for Bright Ideas

HELPING EACH OTHER

Bucks for Bright Ideas is planning informal get-togethers for those with new product or business ventures to share problems and solutions. These opportunities are planned for Tompkinsville, Cave City and Russellville. The dates and places will be sent to all participants and announced publicly.

A reception for all participants is planned for October 27th at the Innovation and Commercialization Center in Bowling Green. The prize winners will be announced at this time.

 

BEHIND THE BUCKS FOR BRIGHT IDEAS

This brochure is sponsored by the Barren River Development Council, with funding from the Department of Commercialization and Innovation, in Kentucky's Cabinet for Economic Development.

Other partners include the Central Region Innovation and Commercialization Center; the Barren River Area Development District; Western Kentucky University's Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation; and the Federal Reserve. All have assets to help those with new ideas enter the commercial world for job creation.

BUCKS FOR BRIGHT IDEAS

Do you have a great idea, product or invention? If so, you need to participate in the Bucks for Bright Ideas competition.

Bucks for Bright Ideas is a publicly funded program that encourages residents in the Barren River Area to move forward with their "bright ideas."

1st place $5,000
2nd place $2,000
3rd place $1,000

OTHER BENEFITS

1. One-on-one assistance from the Innovation and Commercialization Center and The WKU Center for Entrpreneurship and Innovation.
2. Learn about grants and other fund sources.
3. Get expert guidance on developing your idea.
What do you have to lose? You have an Idea! Put it to work! Winners will receive guidance from a team of professionals to take their product or invention to the "next level." Help is there for all participants. Entries are due September 15, 2005.
